I am an Assistant Professor of Political Science at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD.  I received my PhD from Yale University in May of 2011.  My research interests span the subfields of American Politics, Political Behavior, and Political Methodology.

My recent research examines the ways in which government policies and programs affect civic engagement and the effect of priming social norms on political participation.

I use diverse methods ranging from archival research to surveys and experimental methods, and I study both historical and contemporary political behavior.

On this site, you will find information about my research, publications, and teaching experience.
